Meet the Board

  • Matt Rhodes, President

Before founding BinxCorp, Matt Rhodes (he/him) got his start as a mechanical engineer repairing high voltage machinery and working on wind farms all over the United States. Let's just say, he never thought he'd be repairing coffee machines. The company has been servicing espresso, coffee and tea machines for the last 7 years and Matt is much happier working on equipment lower to the ground.

  • Miranda Haney, Secretary

Miranda (she/her) is the head trainer and events coordinator at Greater Goods Coffee.

Miranda’s coffee journey started at a small roaster in her teeny little college town on the eastern shore of Maryland. Over the last six years, she has grown from a baby barista to a nationally-recognized competitor and Authorized SCA Trainer. She believes in maintaining a beginner’s mind to everything she does, and has a passion for empowering people to realize their coffee dreams! Besides being a total coffee nerd, Miranda is a writer, musician, and marathon runner.

  • Kimberly Zash, Treasurer

Kimberly Zash (she/her) is the co-founder and the Head Roaster of Sightseer Coffee. She has been in coffee for five years and has performed many roles including barista, cafe manager, production assistant, quality control specialist, and head roaster. Kimberly is passionate about gender equity and LGBTQ representation in the coffee industry, as well as giving people with disabilities equal opportunities. When she's not at work, she likes riding bikes, listening to true crime podcasts, watching documentaries, and hanging with her spouse, Jude, and dog, Smiles, at the park.

  • Michelle Diaz, Board Member

Michelle (she/her) currently works with Little City Coffee as the Director of Sales. She has been in the coffee industry in some capacity for the last 20 years (yikes!). Prior to moving to Austin, she lived in the northern part of New Jersey, where she worked for Whole Foods Market as a buyer for the coffee program. Over the last 7 years, she has been working for smaller brands and has enjoyed the evolution of a growing brand.

  • Cait Villa, Board Member

Cait (they/them) is the General Manager at Dwell House Coffee and Tap. They first started in coffee in 2012, where they got the opportunity to work with a coffee farmer in Mexico for several years. Since then, they've worked as a barista and coffee educator in Colorado and now here in Austin. They have a passion for the community that's found within coffee and for creating inclusive spaces where coffee can be an experience. Beyond coffee, Cait also enjoys spending time with their two kids, going to Barton Springs, and watching FC Austin games!

  • Marco Leal, Board Member

Marco (he/him) is the Director of Coffee Operations at Red Horn in Cedar Park. He has been in the coffee industry for five years as a barista, coffee pop-up operator, and coffee director and has a passion for customer service. What started as a search to find a more fulfilling career path, coffee has quickly opened up a whole new community filled with endless knowledge that keeps him a permanent student.

When not making all things coffee, you can usually find Marco cooking, competing in trading card tournaments, or exploring the greater Austin area with his wife Laura and daughter Mila.
